My folks have an allotment, and I sort of vaguely based the couple on them, so I emailed my mum the cartoon — this is the exchange that took place:

Me — here's the food cartoon. You might need help with this one, depends how up on your Kirk Douglas movies you are . . .

Mum — explain dearest.

Me — Spartacus. Sounds like Asparagus. We have checked, other people get it!

Mum — that's alright then as long as other people get it but maybe he should look more like Kirk Douglas.
